    • More layout options

All of the current layouts seem just a little awkward. For example, when in "Pane View" it displays the article on the far right which just feels really uncomfortable starting it about 2/3 of the way over. I can't say exactly what needs to change, I just know that none of the current layouts really seems natural to me. Please give us more options for adjusting the layouts.

          • Evernote, Diigo, Zootool & Co

Great work, folks! Already looks like what I was searching for after the end of Google Reader.

It would be great to get a "Send to" option to send articles to tools like Evernote, Diigo, Zootool, or to integrate that under the sharing options.

            • improve "organize" menu

Or (better) - create all "organize" staff directly in reader, not in submenu. Context menu (right click) would be nice for desktop users.

              Essential features:

              1. Move subscriptions to another ctegories/folders and easy way to create/remove new folders. In "organize" menu folders are not expandable now (FF22)
              2. Easy way to unsubscribe/rename subscription

              3. Some subscription displayed without favicons. For example: http://forum.farmanager.com, ibigdan.com .. etc

              • Scrolling is broken in the feed/folder list when navigating using keyboard

e.g., When scrolling down using shift-p, the folder/feed cursor will move past the bottom edge of the screen without scrolling. There are other aspects of shift-p/shift-n navigation which seem borked and need way more testing. Someone with a list of folders and embedded feeds longer than the screen needs to be testing the software.

                • Make keyboard navigation for folders retain focus when moving back and forth from reading feeds

                  Current behaviour:

                  1) Use a combination of shift-n, shift-p and shift-x to go up, down and expand folders
                  2) Use shift-o to open a feed for browsing.
                  3) Start using j and k to read a feed
                  4) Read *all* articles in the feed, right the to the very last one
                  5) When done with reading that feed, and I wish to move to the next feed, shift-n doesn't take me to the next feed, but rather focuses on Home.

                  Expected behaviour:
                  4) Read *all* articles in the feed, right the to the very last one
                  5) When done with…

                  • Change the mail to options back to the way they were - I switched readers because of it!

Reader does not recognize my contacts and I prefer not to have to say "continue" to read article after emailing a link. What a nuisance. Please change back to the way it was.

I have stopped using AOL Reader as my default reader; at least until this is fixed.

                      Hi,

We have reverted the way we email articles to open up your installed desktop email applications. You will have access to contacts now. However, we may change this functionality as time progresses.

                      Thanks,
                      The AOL Reader Team

                    • When emailing an article I do not have access to my Contacts

Used to be that when I was emailing an article, the url of the article was pasted into a blank email from my email client. it no longer does that and ti does not give me access to my Contacts, as my email client does. Go back to the old way or incorporate a way of accessing my Contacts from your new way of emailing articles.

                      • When displaying the feed list (left-hand column), feeds within a folder need to be sorted alphabetically

Now that Google Reader is going away, you'll have a ****** time looking at their well implemented site for examples of well-thought-out behavior. I hope someone put together a list of usability features from Google Reader...

                        • I can no longer scroll me feeds on the iPad

When I try scrolling through me feed list this morning I end up rearranging my feeds instead. Being able to rearrange feeds is nice, but I'm going to want to scroll through the feed list way more often then adjust their arrangement. Maybe you can implement rearranging when a user first touches and holds? Other than that you may need a separate mode for rearrangement.

                                    HI,

We’ve added many sharing options with this new release. You can toggle which ones you are able to share with, as well. Let us know what you think about the new feature!

                                    Thanks,
                                    The AOL Reader Team

                                      Hi,

We have fixed this bug. All feeds that load should show you the articles within that feed. If you still have trouble with this feature please place a ticket with support.

                                      Thanks,
                                      The AOL Reader Team

                                    • Mark only the displayed articles as read when you "Mark all as read".

When you press "Mark all as read", all the articles in the folder get marked "read". But often there comes new ariticles before you get to the end of a folder when you have a long list of feeds. In this case, the newest articles I didn't check get marked "read" when I press "Mark all as read".

I'd like to avoid this problem. Please mark only the displayed articles, not the articles that came after you displayed the list just as Google Reader used to do.

It's really important because you can miss some articles by this problem.

                                        • Add ability to create a new RSS feed out of tagged items like Google Reader allowed.

In Google Reader, you could basically create a new RSS feed based on the tags that could be assigned to subscribed feeds or feed items. For example, everything you tagged "music" or "Obama" or "food" could be used in other applications (or within the reader itself) as a new feed containing only items with this specific tag.
